Define “restart”.

Flash asked me if I wanted to update just now. The dialog window looked like this:

“no restart is required”. Great I thought. Then I got to this window:

“WTF?!” I though, they said that I did not need to restart anything! Oh, they mean “reboot”, but that’s weird, you never need to reboot. It like writing “Contains no poison” on food packaging. Then I remembered my Windows days and understood.

We don’t just need localization, we need platformization. Anyway, I cancelled the installation. Closing my browser and Spotify, just to install a new version of Flash? Nah. I use Flashblock anyway.

Anmälda våldsbrott har ökat mellan 2001-2010

Hittade en länk till tillgänglig statistik från Brottsförebyggande rådet, så jag gjorde detta diagram.

Som ni ser har antalet anmälda brott ökat i landet under de senaste 10 åren. Siffrorna är också /100 000 innvånare. Dock verkar det ändå som att mer tätbebodda områden har fler anmälningar. Vet inte om det är för att folk anmäler mer eller om det är för att det är mer våld. Den översta linjen är Stockholms län, det understa är Kronobergs län.

I can’t even imagine the logistics involved in distributing four million units over the course of a weekend. 25 million people downloading the OS upgrade is also impressive (though they had some problems in the beginning). I do wonder though how many iPhone users there are. How many percent of the user base is 25 million?
